We would like to welcome you to the Special Education Department of the Washington Parish School System.
Mission
Our mission is to assure that all children who are disabled, gifted or talented, homeless, or with limited proficiency in the English language, residing within the jurisdiction of the Washington Parish School System between the ages of 3 and 21, are provided a free appropriate public education that is appropriate to their needs. This includes children with disabilities who have been suspended or expelled from school. The Washington Parish School Board assures that all procedures for the development and implementation of the Individual Education Program/Placement process are followed to provide all students the opportunity to become productive and independent citizens
